About Pete

Pete Carlson has a diverse forty-year career in commercial real estate development throughout the country. Carlson moved to Denver from Minnesota in 2017 and recently developed a luxury condominium project www.altusvail.com in Vail Village. He has been a frequent guest speaker on various webinars, Colorado University-Boulder MBA program, Denver University OLLI Speaker Series, book clubs, and on KFAI Write On Radio. Carlson serves on the board of the Colorado Authors League and member of The Authors Guild and Lighthouse Writers. He is blessed with his wife, Marsha, three boys, and their spouses with four beautiful grandchildren. He enjoys cooking, travel, and writing.

Writing Career

Carlson’s debut novel has won national recognition. Ukrainian Nights won the Finalist Award in the General Fiction category of the national Eric Hoffer Awards 2020 program. Also found in the thriller/suspense genre.

Carlson’s second novel Tearza was published in December 2020 in the romance/women’s fiction genre. Tearza won two Finalist Awards from the Annual Midwest Book Awards and the Annual Colorado Authors League Book Awards.

Carlson’s third novel, Deep Waters of Destiny, was published in 2022. The intrigue begins on a 300 foot mega-yacht  in Odessa, Ukraine and ends in Aruba. Along the trip, the characters struggle in the grey area between good and evil. This novel is a riveting romance/suspense story with a surprising conclusion.
